Discussion Questions:
In Boatlift, ordinary people chose to sail toward danger and help strangers evacuate Manhattan. What motivated them to act, and what does their response reveal about courage and community during a crisis?
According to the newly released records discussed by Mayor Mamdani, officials knew more about the dangerous air around Ground Zero than they communicated to the public. What responsibilities does a government have when public safety, uncertainty, and economic pressures conflict? Who should be held accountable when those responsibilities are not met?
Jon Stewart repeatedly fought for permanent funding for the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund. Considering all three clips, what should “never forget” require from citizens and the government beyond ceremonies and remembrance? Use evidence from at least two clips in your response.
