Period 7 covers a wide range of material. During Period 7, the US engages in THREE major wars! (Spanish-American War, World War I, and World War II) Xenophobia is on the rise!  Traditional values clash with new emerging ideologies. And let’s not forget to mention that the Roaring Twenties will come to an abrupt end when the Stock Market Crashes. Yikes! Did I also fail to mention that this is also the era of Progressivism?

Take a look at the following sources from Period 7.

Instructions:

  1. Summarize what you notice about each source.

  2. Compare each source to Period 6.

  3. Does this source reflect a change in American ideology, action, or thought?

  4. Or does this source reflect a possible change that is taking place?

“Our histories never unfold in isolation. We cannot truly tell what we consider to be our own histories without knowing the other stories. And often we discover that those other stories are actually our own stories.”
