Sentence of Supporting Evidence #1: The state of Maryland attempted to tax the national bank; however, the Supreme Court ruled that states could not tax federal institutions in McCulloch v. Maryland.
Sentence of Supporting Evidence #2: Members of the working class, such as women who worked in Lowell textile mills, fought against their employers by creating unions. These unions advocated for fairer wages and working conditions.
My Own Sentence of Supporting Evidence: Henry Clay advocated for the American System and hoped to expand infrastructure that would ultimately support economic growth. However, Andrew Jackson viewed this expansion as unconstitutional and shot down Clay’s ideas. |
